Education

My education includes the Vorkurs, a preparatory design course in Zurich, that takes one year to accomplish. Afterwards I attended a design school in Basel called Schule für Gestaltung Basel for three years. This school focuses on art, design, new medias and the Berufsmatura, a professional diploma.
At this school I acquired extended skills in the sector of product- and communication design, in combination with a deepened cultural and artistic knowledge. During the first year the emphasis was put on two and three dimensional design. The second year was about applying our theoretical knowledge on specific projects. In the third year we concentrated on our future profession, in my case, interactive medias. I am familiar with the programs Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, InDesign and FinalCut. In general I work on a daily basis. For creating websites I prefer writing the html-code manually although I could work with a WYSIWYG-Editor like Adobe GoLive.

Present: turkier.ch

After my studies I decided to create the company turkier.ch and to work independly as a graphic and webdesigner in order to gather professional experience. I consider this as an important challenge because I have to do everything on my own and I’m responsible for everything such as customer relationship, concepting, designing and programming. I have the chance to work for exceptional companies, like at the moment for the new yorker investment company the invus group llc. In the first quarter of this year I had the unique chance to worked as an intern at Desgrippes Gobé Group in New York for three months. My main work consisted of designing and building the website emotionalbranding.com.

Sincerely
Danièle Turkier
